Harrisburg, Pa. - Tyco Electronics says that its compact P&B W57 series thermal circuit breakers cannot be manually tripped. When the circuit breaker is tripped, a push-button doubles as the reset mechanism and indicator. Rated reset time is 60 seconds. The units are aimed at applications that require circuit protection in the 4- to 20-amp range. Several mounting arrangements are available, and up to six tab designs are offered in conjunction with standard 1/4-inch quick-connect tabs for wire termination.

The P&B W57 circuit breakers will continuously carry 100 percent of their rated capacity and may trip between 101 and 134 percent of capacity. They are designed to trip within one hour at 135 percent of rated capacity; trip time at 200 percent is 4 to 40 seconds. Interrupt capacity is 1,000 A and resettable overload capacity is 10 times the rated current.

A 20-A model is priced starting at 67 cents each in lots of 10,000. Delivery takes four to six weeks. Authorized distributors may ship from stock.
