SAN FRANCISCO—Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC) Wednesday (Feb. 11) cut more than 100 jobs and said it would reduce employee compensation.

AMCC (Sunnyvale, Calif.) did not provide details on the job cuts or compensation reduction.

"We are committed to managing our operating expenses prudently through this economic downturn," said Kambiz Hooshmand, AMCC president and CEO, in a statement. "We strive to remain, as much as possible, cash flow neutral."

AMCC announced last month that Hooshmand will step down as CEO effective June 1. He will be replaced by current Chief Operating Officer Paramesh Gopi.
