PARIS Sequans Communications SA (La Défense, France) announced its Mobile WiMax technology powers Alvarion's BreezeMAX Extreme solution, aimed at accelerating the deployment of broadband wireless services in rural, residential and business broadband, as well as video surveillance, public safety, government and smart power grid.
Alvarion explained that BreezeMAX is the foundation of its OPEN WiMax 4Motion solution. The BreezeMAX family of base stations and antennas is claimed to address the need for converged data access, voice, video and multimedia services over all-IP networks. And, the company specified, BreezeMAX Extreme is an all outdoor WiMax 802.16e base station for fixed and nomadic service applications.
Alvarion noted that BreezeMAX Extreme product line now integrates Sequans' mobile WIMax semiconductor solutions such as the SQN2130 base station ASIC and the SQN1130 mobile station system-on-chip.
"Our partnership with Sequans allows us to bring an optimized solution for these specific market segments and lets customers maximize the utilization of their spectrum," commented Ofer Karp, president, Wireless Business Division, Alvarion. "The carrier class BreezeMAX Extreme supports advanced antenna and interference mitigation techniques, resulting in leading performance and an improved business case for a variety of markets."
In September, Sequans announced Via Technologies, Inc. (Taipei, Taiwan) selected its Mobile WiMAX chip technology for its eNote Turnkey solution, a 11.6" thin and light notebook.
Sequans claimed that its WiMAX chip technology delivers high throughput with low power consumption via Sequans mimoMAX technology, which combines a maximum likelihood decoder on the downlink with two transmitters (2Tx) on the uplink.
