Ericsson agrees to join ST's mobile chip giant
Ericsson Mobile Platforms is set to join newly-formed ST-NXP Wireless in a 50:50 merger that pursues size for competitive advantage. ST will exercise an option to buy NXP out of its 20 percent share in ST-NXP prior to the merger with EMP, the companies said.
