BANGALORE, India — Graphics processor company Nvidia Corp. will acquire Pace Soft Silicon, a Santa Clara, Calif.-company whose main development center is in Pune in western India, according to a report in The Times of India from Mumbai.

Details of the deal were not disclosed, and Nvidia’s chief executive Jen-Hsun Huang reportedly declined comment.

The report said Nvidia (Santa Clara, Calif.) plans to speed up its graphics technology development through the acquisition. Pace Soft, founded in 2000, develops mobile media products and components for feature phones, smart phones, PDAs and personal media players.

Pace Soft’s customers include Samsung, Sagem, Motorola, Sharp Microelectronics and Renesas. Its professional design services arm focuses on embedded multimedia designs on ARM/DSP platforms.

Nvidia opened a design center in Bangalore a year ago to drive research and development for next-generation graphics and digital media processors.
