PARIS EDA and IP company Dolphin Integration SA (Meylan, France) reported unaudited revenues of 10.7 million euros ($15.9 million) for fiscal year 2008-2009, ended Sept. 30. This compares with revenues of 11.1 million euros ($16.55 million) for fiscal year 2007-2008.
To justify the slight decrease, Dolphin Integration said the company suffered from the impact of the economic crisis on its partners and from the dollar decline.
However, Dolphin Integration said it has maintained its "level of activity in a strongly declining market, and appropriate corrective measures had been decided in time, so the net result should be satisfactory from all our partners' points of view."
Looking ahead, the France-based company declared: "The high rate of upgrades imposed by our market position, in both the Library and the Audio converter businesses, has been faced positively so that the company is facing the new fiscal year in a promising posture."
In parallel, Dolphin Integration announced Fujitsu Microelectronics Ltd has licensed its CD10ACN50 high-performance 100 dB Audio CODEC for integration into ICs to be manufactured in 90-nm.
"To date, companies still believe in relying on test chip and test board, while they intend to integrate a high-resolution delta-sigma converter into a noisy SoC environment," commented Christophe GAILLARD, Manager of the mixed signal Virtual Component Business Unit at Dolphin Integration.
He continued: "Some Fabless companies still have the habit of selecting a CODEC specified at 96 dB or even higher, while expecting a mere 85 dB or possibly 90 dB on Silicon at SoC level after integration. Fujitsu appreciated the real robustness and completeness of our ViC deliverables, as well as the reasons why they enable lossless integration."
