YOKOHAMA, Japan — It turns out that LEDs are not just for lighting and industrial applications. They can also be used to grow vegetables.

That was just one of the many sights at a flat-panel and "green" device forum here this week.

We saw a raft of e-readers, some based on flexible e-paper, along with a big push for 3-D TV and full-HD 3-D for theaters.
