PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Agilent Technologies Inc. today announced it has completed a previously announced acquisition of privately-held Digital Technology Inc., which supplied intellectual property (IP) for testing of network systems. The spin-off from Hewlett-Packard Co. did not release financial terms of the acquisition.

DALLAS -- Texas Instruments Inc. today announced it has completed the acquisition of Dot Wireless Inc., a San Diego-based supplier of system architecture and protocol software for third-generation (3G) cellular phones and wireless devices. TI said it will establish a wireless technology center in San Diego, where Dot Wireless is based, and it expects to expand in the area as it develops new wireless products.

Tundra Semiconductor Corp. announced plans Thursday (Aug. 31) to acquire Quadic Systems Inc., an analog chip developer and design-layout specialist based in South Portland, Maine. Tundra said the purchase will help it reduce development time for high-speed interconnect technology in communications-chip applications.

Anadigics Inc. has entered the emerging personal-area networking business, announcing an equity investment in Embedded Wireless Devices Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif. The size of the investment was not disclosed.
Micro-ASI buys EPI to expand advanced IC-packaging capabilities

DALLAS -- Micro-ASI Inc. here has announced the purchase of EPI Technologies Inc., a nearby supplier of patented known-good-die (KGD) processes and volume testing capability for bare-die products. The acquisition gives five-year-old Micro-ASI a wider range of technologies for advanced chip packaging services, said company officials, who did not release financial details of the purchase.
