I worked at a small company on a tight budget where we designed and manufactured ultra wideband microwave impulse radar sensors for vehicle blindspot applications.  The synchronously sampled receivers provided quite a tight frequency bandpass function but the devices also operated with very low peak and even lower average power. 

Our primary test for spectral compatibility was for cross interference between nearby radar sensors, a real life scenario such as where multiple vehicles were operating in relatively close proximity like a mining operation.  We also tested by driving vehicle mounted sensors near known spectrum users, such as on roadways near high powered weather radar sites. 

Rather than a hard qualification to absolute signal levels and types, something beyond the undestanding of our target customers, we tried to identify and test against possible real world scenarios.
