SAN FRANCISCO Agilent Technologies Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire most of the assets and businesses of system and circuit design software provider Eagleware-Elanix. Financial details were not disclosed.
Agilent (Palo Alto, Calif.) said the merger, which remains subject to standard closing conditions, would bring the company a product portfolio with many capabilities that compliment the high-frequency EDA products of its EEsof division.
In a statement issued by Agilent Thursday, Jim McGillivary, vice president and general manager of the EEsof EDA division, said adding Eagleware-Elanix's product line would provide customers with a broader range of products and services for high-frequency design.
"Agilent has been in the high-frequency EDA software market for 20 years," McGillivary said, "and this strategic acquisition only strengthens our long-term commitment to that market."
