One of the more amusing and enterprising stories of the year concerned an advertisement. An Analog Devices Inc. ad on page 19 in the July 17 edition of EE Times included the geographical coordinates 32 54.7 N, 96 45.1 W.
Alert reader Keith Lofstrom tipped editor David Roman to just where those coordinates lead: the front entrance of rival Texas Instruments Inc.'s worldwide headquarters in Dallas. ADI and TI compete in many areas, key among them digital signal processors.
Roman wrote about it, and ADI was sufficiently pleased to present him with an investigative jour- nalism award at a meeting later in the year.
We've posted a short video of that presentation, "Analog Devices gives out investigative journalism award," at http://video.yahoo.com/ video/profile?yid=eetimesvideos.
