SAN FRANCISO John Kispert, president and chief operating officer (COO) of semiconductor equipment supplier KLA-Tencor Corp., will step down at the end of the year, the company said Thursday (Aug. 28).
Kispert's responsibilities will be assumed by CEO Rick Wallace, the company said.
Kispert has been with KLA-Tencor since 1995, holding several posts. He appoint president and COO in January 2006 and has served as the company's interim chief financial officer (CFO) since March.
Kispert's CFO responsibilities as will be assumed by former BEA Systems Inc. CFO Mark Dentinger, who KLA-Tencor Thursday appointed CFO effective Sept. 3.
In a statement, Wallace praised Kispert as a key contributor to KLA-Tencor for many years. "During his tenure with the company he has seen us through the implementation of numerous strategic initiatives, multiple acquisitions, the addition of new global facilities, the launch of industry-leading products and much more," Wallace said.
Dentinger's nine-year tenure at BEA ended when the company was acquired by Oracle. Prior to that he served in various financial management positions at Compaq Computer Corp., KLA-Tencor said.
