Mountain View, CA--October 21, 1996--Cygnus Support (Mountain View, CA) announced availability schedules for its GNUPro software development tools for the MIPS16 Instruction Set Architecture from MIPS Technologies Inc. (Mountain View, CA) and LSI Logic's (Milpitas, CA) 16/32-bit TinyRISC microprocessor. These tools will allow LSI Logic customers using Cygnus tools to develop C and C++ applications optimized for TR4001 TinyRISC MPU.
The Cygnus GNUPro port to the TinyRISC MPU will originate from the same, single source tree as the 100+ platforms currently distributed by Cygnus. This offers developers flexibility and provides a smooth migration path for products making the transition to the TinyRISC MPU.
The Cygnus GNUPro toolchain consists of GNU C/C++ compilers, remote source-level debugger with GUI, macro-assembler, linker/loader, libraries, binary file utilities, and instruction set simulator. Cygnus offers flexible and comprehensive support services for its GNUPro products.
The Cygnus GNUPro toolchain for the TinyRISC processor will be hosted on SunOS and Solaris platforms. The toolchain will be available in beta release in Jan. 1997 and final release in Feb. 1997. Cygnus will integrate the TinyRISC toolchain into its progressive release process beginning with a third quarter 1997 release.
