Knoxville, Tenn.--Jan. 29, 1998--ASIC International (Ai; Knoxville), which provides a full range of complex ASIC design services and cores, hasannounced the appointment of Reid Wender, to its technical staff.
As a member of Ai's technical staff, Wender will help support advancedsystems and complex ASIC designs in DSP, communications, cryptography,graphics, audio, video, and rad-hard. He will work at Ai's Knoxvilleoffice.
Previously, Wender served as development manager for Phillips Sound andVision of Knoxville. His responsibilities included the formation,recruitment, and project management of 40 developers creating Phillips'first DTV receiver for the U.S. marketplace. As development manager, Wender provided overall project definition, project planning, riskassessment, and departmental budgeting.
Other previous positions include project leader for the development of aMultimedia Access Theater; hardware project leader, with responsibility forthe hardware architecture of Phillips' first MPEG-II set-top-box; and ASICdesigner/CAE Tool Developer. He has over 10 years experience withdigital video processing and multimedia application architecture as well asin-depth expertise with project management, system integration, mixedsignal development, and FPGAs.
Wender holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from theUniversity of Tennessee.
