Tucson, Ariz.--April 23, 1998--Burr-Brown Corp. (Tucson) announced the OPA343 series of CMOS operational amplifiers with rail-to-rail input/output and AC performance optimized for low-voltage, single-supply operation in portable, battery-powered, and price-sensitive applications.
The rail-to-rail op amps maintain high performance (wide dynamic range) while operating on low supply voltages--useful in modern single-supply and battery-powered systems. Rail-to-rail behavior, combined with miniature packages, high speed, and low cost, makes the OPA343 series compatible with laptop computers, PCMCIA cards, and portable instrumentation applications. In addition, the AC performance makes them well suited for audio applications such as headphone amplifiers used in portable CD players.
The OPA343 series operates on a single supply as low as 2.5 V with an input common-mode voltage range that extends 500 mV beyond the rails. Output voltage swing is to within 1 mV of the supply rails. The series offers dynamic response of GBW = 5.5 MHz, SR (=6 V/micro-seconds), yet quiescent current is only 850 micro-amps. The single version (OPA343) is packaged in the tiny 5-lead SOT-23-5 surface mount and SO-8 surface mount. The dual (OPA2343) comes in the miniature MSOP-8 surface mount and SO-8 surface mount. The quad (OPA4343) is available in the SSOP-16 surface mount and SO-14 surface mount. Single, dual, and quad versions have identical specifications for design flexibility.
