Austin, Texas--July 27, 1998--At its annual membership meeting held in conjunction with the recent Design Automation Conference, Si2 members elected the 1997-1998 Board of Directors. Si2 Board members oversee the direction of the consortium and provide approval, input, and guidance regarding major policy and strategic decisions.
Si2 is excited to announce the election of new Board members:- KC Murphy, executive vice-president, Cadence Design Systems, Inc.;- Jan-Olof Kismalm, director of Microelectronics Coordination, LM Ericsson, Telefon AB.
In addition, the return of Board member companies with new representation: - Mark McDermott, director, System-on-a-Chip Design Technology, Motorola, Inc.; - Norbert Diesing, manager, Methodology Development, Nortel Semiconductors; and - Jeff Barton, manager, Semiconductor Mass Marketing, Texas Instruments Inc.
Dr. John Darringer, manager, EDA Strategy, IBM Corp. was re-elected as chairman; Andrew Graham, president, Si2, as vice chairman; Don Guiou, vice-president and general manager, Mixed Signal IC Design, Mentor Graphics, returns as treasurer; and Dr. Hitoshi Yoshizawa, assistant general manager, System ASIC Division, NEC Corp. will serve again this term as Board secretary.
