Cupertino, Calif.--August 24, 1998--Ikos Systems, Inc. (Cupertino)announced that IDT (Santa Clara, Calif.) purchased and utilized the Ikos'Virtualogic emulator for its newly introduced IDT77252 and IDT77222Segmentation and Reassembly (SAR) chips. The emulator's role includedreducing product development cycles and identifying bugs in the chips thatwere designed for use in ATM switches and network interface cards.
The new IDT ABR SAR chips include a number of asynchronousprocesses that need to run in the design. To develop the products, IDT used a new standardcell design library that is supported by a new tool suite and a new library.
The IDT77252 and IDT77222 ABR SARs are being targeted for up to 155-Mbits/s ATMnetworks. The controllers will come in3.3-volt and 5-volt tolerant versions. They support the PCI 2.1specification and are designed to support PC '98 specifications for Windows-based networking applications.
