MUNICH, Germany Fujitsu Siemens has announced to offer board computers for industrial applications. The company will begin with a mini ITX board.
At the occasion of an in-house fair in November, the company plans to reveal its first product in this segment, the D2703-S mini ITX board computer. Equipped with a choice of AMD Sempron or Turion processors and integrated graphics controller, high definition audio and a range of interfaces including eight USB ports and two Gigabit LAN controllers, the 17 x 17 cm board targets industrial applications, information terminals, multimedia applications and medical electronics.
The board has been developed and will be manufactured at Fujitsu Siemens' plant in Augsburg, Germany. Volume production is scheduled for the beginning of 2008.
A company spokesperson said that in the mean term, Fujitsu Siemens plans to expand its present offering.
