SAN JOSE, Calif. – Samplify Systems and Telemed Ltd. announced an alliance to jointly develop and market an ultrasound system for medical electronics companies. The design will be powered by Samplify's analog-front-end modules and beam forming technology and run Telemed's image processing and user interface software.
Under the agreement, Telemed (Vilnius, Lithuania) also will design its own a next-generation ultrasound system using Samplify's technology. The system will be sold to OEMs and original design manufacturers. In addition, Samplify (Santa Clara, Calif.) will make Telemed's software and integration services a preferred solution for its module customers.
"We are pleased to have Telemed not just as a hardware customer, but also as a software partner enabling us to deliver to our customers a complete end-to-end hardware and software solution,” said Tom Sparkman, chief executive of Samplify.
“Samplify’s modular approach to the analog front end combined with [Telemed's] advanced image processing software enables us to rapidly deliver production solutions to our customers,” added Dmitry Novikov chief executive of Telemed.
The two companies made the announcement this week at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Conference in Chicago.
