Irvine, Calif. - Adlink Technology Inc.'s small cPCI-2500 Chassis Series is mountable on a ceiling, wall, desktop or rack, and can even be used with mobile instruments. Because it is a CompactPCI/PXI system with an all-aluminum chassis, it is built to perform in rugged environments and holds up under the rough treatment of vehicles.
"Most CompactPCI chassis are designed for rack-mounted applications," said Peichien Lee, general manager of Adlink America. "But there is still a strong demand for CompactPCI in instrumentation platforms. This chassis is ideal for those applications, because it can be mounted anywhere."
Designed primarily for use with PC-based measurement and automation equipment, the cPCI-2500, at 9 x 9 x 7 inches, is smaller than standard rack-mounted CompactPCI chassis. It has five 3U, 32-bit user-defined peripheral-card slots, two-slot ac/dc power supply and three-slot CPU card, all of which can be swapped out. Chassis come with a 32-bit PCI bus connection, two 90-CFM fans and air filters.
Adlink claims the units will fill a wide variety of uses. "There are a lot of applications where you can't use a rack-mounted system," Lee said. "If you want to measure vibrations in a vehicle, for example, then you have to put the chassis on the vehicle."
Pricing starts at $1,450.
