Somerset, U.K. Euroquartz Group's XO91 series of surface-mount clock oscillators now features versions that operate with 1.8 and 2.5 V supplies. Available in 7 x 5-mm packages, these low voltage SMD oscillators are suitable for use in a wide variety of applications including handheld and battery-powered communications equipment, PDAs, GPS and wireless LAN.
Available in the frequency range from 600 kHz to 125 MHz, the X091 series SMD oscillators consist of a TTL/CMOS compatible hybrid circuit and a miniature quartz crystal. The maximum current consumption for the low voltage oscillators ranges from 8 to 25 mA for 1.8-V parts and from 10 to 30 mA for 2.5-V devices, depending on frequency. A tri-state function is provided and can be disabled as required. These devices are suitable for vapor-phase, infrared or epoxy mount processes.
Four frequency stability ranges are available at ±10 ppm (0°C to 50°C), ±15 ppm (0°C to 70°C), ±25 ppm (-40°C to 85°C) and ±50 ppm (-55°C to 125°C). Specifications include a standard duty cycle of 50% ±10% (50% ±5% is available), 15 pF CMOS output load (<50 pF is available), and a 10 LSTTL output load. The startup time is 5 ms maximum (1.8 to 32 MHz) or 10 ms maximum (32 to 125 MHz) and aging is rated at ±5 ppm maximum in the first year. The new devices are available in the commercial (-10°C to 70°C), industrial (-40°C to 85°C) and military (-55°C to 125°C) operating temperature ranges.
Pricing starts at $0.80 each, depending on specifications and frequency, in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is four weeks.
