Milford, N.H. Degree Controls Inc. says its new AccuSense F900 airflow sensor is unique due to its digital TTL output of air velocity for direct control of airflow. The new F900 sensor measures the velocity and temperature of airflow in applications such as biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, electronic enclosures, clean rooms and other critical containment areas.
With a normal sensing airflow range from 0.15 to 2 m/s (30 to 200 fpm) up to 0.15 to 10 m/s (30 to 2000 fpm), depending on the calibration, the F900 series offers excellent price to performance, compact size, reliability and resistance to mechanical shock and vibration, according to the company. Wide temperature compensation settings are available including ±5% at 10°C to 35°C and ±10% at 10°C to 60°C.
With a supply voltage of 7 to 13 Vdc, the F900 series provides a linear 0 to 4V output or a digital TTL output, depending on the model. Based on the company's proven AccuSense thermistor technology, the F900 retains its calibration over time and can be easily installed as part of a control loop to precisely manage airflow, said the company. A variety of sensor head styles are available.
The F900 airflow sensor (in a standard format) is priced at $95 in quantities of 1,000.
