San Jose, Calif. Pericom Semiconductor Corp. recently expanded its high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) switch portfolio with four high-bandwidth differential signal switch products for multi-source or multi-sink video applications, including TV, monitor, set-top box, switch box and game consoles.
Pericom's HDMI Rev 1.3 switches, designated the PI3HDMI412FT-A, PI3HDMI1212, PI3HDMI413-A and PI3HDMI414, are fully compliant with the newly released standard that was released in June 2006. For more on the spec, go to the HDMI website: www.hdmi.org/.
With 16-bit deep color support (3.3-Gbits/s), the switches can be used to connect various high performance high definition (HD) source products to a single HD video display.
The PI3HDMI412FT-A, PI3HDMI1212, PI3HDMI413-A and
PI3HDMI414 also provide high bandwidth of up to 5.4 Gbits/s, low insertion loss, high electrostatic discharge (ESD) tolerance and ideal pin-out
The PI3HDMI412FT-A, PI3HDMI1212, PI3HDMI413-A, and
PI3HDMI414 have been designed with Pericom's patent-pending technology that enables the devices to achieve the specific impedance required for HDMI/DVI signals to minimize reflections and insertion loss, while still maintaining differential impedance requirements per the revision 1.3 specifications.
The PI3HDMI412FT-A, PI3HDMI413-A, PI3HDMI414, and PI3HDMI1212 are Pb-free and green and in full production today, with prices ranging from $1.40 to $3.00 in 10,000 unit quantities.
