Sunnyvale, Calif.Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX13410E and MAX13415E half-duplex, RS-485/RS-422 transceivers with an integrated low-dropout (LDO) regulator.
The MAX13410E and MAX13415E half-duplex, RS-485/RS-422 transceivers use Maxim's proprietary AutoDirection control architecture to automatically enable the driver when transmitting data. AutoDirection control eliminates the need for a driver-enable control signal, as well as the optocouplers typically required for control-line isolation. To further save space and reduce cost, the integrated LDO regulator features a wide, +6V to +28V supply range, eliminating the need to regulate isolated power supplies. The MAX13410E and MAX13415E are well-suited for isolated-metering, automotive, and industrial applications.
The transceivers offer ±15kV ESD protection (Human Body Model) and thermal-shutdown protection. Additionally, they feature a 1/4-unit load-receiver input impedance, allowing up to 128 transceivers on the bus.
The MAX13410E and MAX13415E are fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range and are available in an industry-standard, 8-pin SO package.
Pricing: Starts at $1.49 (1000-up, FOB USA).
