EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) is one of those topics where even experienced engineers need constant reminders. Emissions and immunity problems frequently pop up, so it's always good to learn more about how to troubleshoot and minimize interference problems.
If you're in the Boston area on September 16, then feel free to attend a practical EMC demonstration by Kenneth Wyatt, "EMC Troubleshooting, Measurements and Common Problems." Wyatt will cover many of his most commonly seen EMC issues. He'll cover basic EMC theory as a quick refresher. Then, he'll launch into some low-cost troubleshooting and pre-compliance tests you can perform right on your bench.
Kenneth Wyatt demonstrates EMC troubleshooting techniques at an IEEE EMC Symposium.
The seminar will take place at Bose Corp. in Framingham, Mass., on September 16, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.The meeting is sponsored by the Boston IEEE EMC Society chapter. Non-IEEE members are welcome to attend. Click here for the chapter page, which includes a link to the official announcement where you can get driving directions.
