Finally a realistic viewpoint
MWagner_MA   1/6/2017 7:38:05 AM
Even considering my confirmation bias (I have my doubts about the technogy), current evidence of the poor state of software reliability and rapidly increasing complexity is enough in my view to support this viewpoint.  Additional data and research on man-machine interfacing with pilots, and train operators, confirms many of the concerns in making this technology a reality.  I think the technologies that extend human vision will provide the most benefit in the short term.  Items like synthetic vision will be helpful only if the driver doesn't intentionally drive into a storm expecting the technology to get them through.  Drivers aren't as capable (or as well trained) as pilots at compensating from system failures.
