7 myths of GF
emesdoublee   9/26/2017 9:28:42 AM
The more I read this quote the more shocked I get. Most CEOs know how to lie better than this. It includes expectations that the company will turn profitable somewhere "between multiple quarters and years" in that period, he said. Why not just say we are on track to be profitable soon? Between multiple quarters and years? That's funny! Maybe he knows he is getting canned? This was his last myths of GF session?

Translation:

1-) They are unprofitable and will continue to be unprofitable. Good luck getting your money back Arab investors

2-) They're still clueless about EUV, can't even yield masks. 2020 is the earliest they can start to dream about EUV in production, by then all the other players will be far ahead.

3-) They have little to show for 7nm. Low yields at high cost. Nanowires? Please

4-) IBM East Fishkill is on life support, Shift RF traffic to save it, but probably too late.

5-) Most importantly: It's all going to China anyway

Could no one tell me more, if not explain to me about this big difference between 12nm and 7nm?

I believe in a science fiction. But you all imagine what will happen? Very good initiative and very good investment from Mr. Patton.

I am amazed by the incessant progress of technology and at the same time I look forward to seeing the result and putting it into practice. Especially, processors at 7 nm. I hope they will be able to manage the risks.

I would like to learn a little more about risk management in the implementation of these new adjustments, although it is only in 2019 that the production will be officially launched.

2-32 Mb MRAM is still not quite SRAM capacity.

How to find a balance between performance and throughput? It's true that it's a big challenge right now.
