clear on iPhone-8 versions --- all / none have 1Gbps maximum downloads...

Likely none , the Qualcomm modem can but the device is likely not equipped to - they can't offer less with the Intel version or users and carriers would revolt so no point in spending on that.

For what is worth, they only seem to advertise it as 450Mbps.

@sranje: I think that answer will have to come from a reviewer, not a teardown.

Qualcomm claims its latest LTE modems are unique in offering Gbit/s download speeds. However Qualcomm charged Apple is throttling its Qcomm handsets to a lesser speed that units with Intel modems deliver so all its phones provide the same performance. I am not sure if Apple has made any public comment about this.

Teardowns have shown Intel and Qcomm chips are in different versions of the handsets. Users will have to see if tey can get a Gbit/s on the models with Qcomm modems...but what users beyond we tech-nogensia are geeky enough to try it?  ;-)
