Where are the DSP SBC boards?
BillS   12/20/2017 9:10:30 PM
Where are the ~$50-~$100 SBC DSP boards with two or four or eight analog input buffers, AtoD, DSP, DtoA and analog output buffers? Handling everything from DC to perhaps 100 khz.  Where are the little boards that would let you trivially easily create a digital hearing aid doing affine transforms in the frequency domain? Or autotune. Or an electronic stethoscope. Or a digital seismograph? Or EEG processing? Or ECG processing? Or let you do most of what OpenBCI does? Or hobby level analog oscilloscope? All the while letting you attach anything from piezo chips to microphones to audio channels to adhesive skin electrodes to speakers to USB cables. All using the same board.

Well a DSP board is not a Single Board Computer. The latter is made to be use of general purpose and run some operating system. A DSP board is way more specialised althrough it is possible to run an highly specialised, specific architecture oriented Os like this article describe : https://www.eetimes.com/author.asp?section_id=4&doc_id=1283778 So this does not belong to the scope of this article. If you are looking for such board, look at all the evaluation board of DSPs
