Thanks for pointing out. Indeed, as I wrote in the story, System Plus Consulting's Fraux told us that as for the RGB camera sensor, "Sony provides the CIS (CMOS Image Sensor), while LG Innotek probably supplies the module."

Actually, that is incorrect.  There are 4 microphones on the iPhone X.

Thank you for the comment. Indeed we dug a little bit more and we finally found the 4th microphone, well hidden at the bottom inside the speaker module.

Looks like InvenSense or ST did not stick to their knitting. Any feedback from them?

InvenSense has a 0.75 mm package, so I doubt that it was solely due to the thinness of the package.

The answer to why Invensense lost the accelerometer socket in the iPhoneX is contained in the EE times article:

https://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1332786

See the quote: "The MEMS accelerometer consumes 10 times less power than our competitors' accelerometers to extend the battery life of wearables and IoT [devices]," Stefan Finkbeiner, Bosch CEO and general manager, told EE Times in advance of CES. "
