re: HDMI/DVI HDCP handshake problems & how to avoid them
PHIL WEATHERWAX   12/29/2010 9:35:28 PM
I just received a blue ray copy of the Pacific for Christmas. I went to watch last night part 1 and when I go to play the movie, it starts up fine and you have audio but when you go to select play all or play part A or B which ever you decide to watch and select, the movie starts to play with great video but no sound. To get sound I need to turn my AVR off and then back on and then all is fine. All other blue ray movies play fine and I have done all my firm ware upgrades. Any help will be appreciated.

Perfect Solution

If the "nice pople" in the media industry could, they would implant babies with crypto chips behind their eyes, so they could later charge them for viewing scenery while driving down the highway!

The solution is simple: Democracy!

1)  Elect democratic government(s) for the first time in the history of North America. (OK, that is not so simple)

2)  Ban all forms of HDCP and prosecute all manufacturers and distributors of HDCP
complient devices as "accessories to extortion" with a mandatory minimum penalty of $1,000,000 per device sold.

3) Legislate a mandatory limit on the price of digital media content of $1.00 per 60 minutes.

4) Send all the MoFu'g media moguls to "Burger University".

Voila, no more piracy, no more HDMI hand-shaking issues and no more labor shortages at MacDonalds. I'l have mine well done, lots of onions, hold the mustard.
