The Thailand floods have had a disruption of 6-months in the supply chain ecosystem. But as with many electronic hardware companies in the aftermath of Japan's earthquake this year, second-sourcing in different geographical locations became more important than before. It surprises me if Intel did not factor this in business upheavals. MP Divakar

it looks like Intel is hiding the real reason behing the hdd shortage. it's no secret that Intel is lagging far behind the hottest trends, mobile & ipad devices. the pc market is evolving very fast to non intel-microsoft solutions. wakeup intel before it's too late

HOpe the HDD manufacturers will have plans for new sites in the future which has minimum or no natural damages.
