Intel is taking security seriously - acquired McAfee and has incorporated security extensions into its CPU. This is a way for Intel to enable end to end security from the processor and through the network in an integrated manner. Definitely needed in the next decade which will see even more state sponsored hacking.

Data Security over internet is a very strategic requirement and actually it is a never ending process, companies will have to go on paying to the security companies. In the present era of increasing speed gateways, it will create a requirement of the security solution side as well, so there is a very fine space for development, this might be the goal of Intel.
