Not sure the SEC or DOJ would let Qualcomm settle this "quietly" if there has been a determination of wrong doing. I hope, if evidence of wrong doing is found, that it would be made public. But keep in mind that at this point this is only a preliminary investigation and it's quite possible that Qualcomm is in full compliance with the law.

Qualcomm should quietly settle out of court with US SEC without admitting any guilt, stay focus on business in 2012.
