I fully agree with you. Specially next generation engineers will only start working with it when the free version gets available. I am happy Xilinx has one this way, because Altium, or proprietarily Cypress have shown the huge impact of their products capabilities.

It will be great when there is a free version of the tool we can try out. I have been hesitant to shell out for a new tool without a trial run first.
