Dig your avatar. Long ago I decided that a company which thinks it is not my job to k ow what I need does not deserve my $$$. Unfortunately Google has forgotten what made them what they are and is trying to shove G+ in one form or another and terminating popular services in a misguided attempt to make G+ less pathetic. This leaves Windows. Hopefully a tear from now when my contract expires they have most of the basic apps. I have signed up for an outlook.com account and it actually is better than gmail in some ways. I also stopped using Chrome. With Reader dead there is really nothing tying me to Google any more.

Intel shouldn't totally reinvent itself; it should continue to look for new design-in wins, and open up a bit more to foundry services. They must have stuff in the labs to keep them ahead of everyone else. I worry that "lean and mean" will burn out technical staff. A BIG part of Intel's success is due to keeping employees motivated. MBA types don't understand that it takes money to make money, and sucking it out of the company to give more to shareholders just might not be the best long-term plan. I believe Intel's stock is flat because microtraders have taken control: Intel cycles VERY reliably between $18 and $26 per share. Ride the cycle and make money, while screwing buy-and-hold investors.

I think the new team at the top needs to be given the benefit of doubt and time to prove themselves. They have been clearly handed a well-defined challenge -orchestrate a second life for Intel where it thrives in a world where desktops will soon be reduced to a pitiful minority. And define and execute Intel's mobile strategy! MP Divakar

Not yet. Wait for the IDF to hear.. Tick Tock.. why no one can manufacture FINFET. Security (my god) the world will be collapsing without Intel security (tie macfee to chip and no wants this). Even if ARM ultra books comes they are not safe.. Lots of potential to speak your way out for few years till new leaders make enough money.. Intel started off with Ph.Ds who have worked through the ranks and technical leaders as CEO, the day it change this trend, moved away from California on major developement, it could only polish the apple and could not come up with new great things...
