Cool science, but how much power can really be saved? If each of the 7.14 B global population needs 10MB or about .1 second of write time every day, and mag heads dissipate 1 watt, that's about 200 kW/Hr or $20 saved worldwide each day. Hardly a game changer ;)

A ferrimagnet has nothing to do with the materials that compose it. What defines a ferrimagnet is how its spins are aligned. It's the first sentence of the Wikipedia article, for crying out loud! :)
