I had never heard of them, but sounds like I probably have used systems with chips they designed in them.

They have an interesting business model that seems to be working quite well. It's refreshing to read about experience & specific expertise being valued rather than just "warm bodies in chairs."

We often cover big companies' layoffs. But what happens after a tier-one company shuts down a design team is rarely reported, largely because we are not privy to that info. Synapse Design has given us some insights into what might be going on behind the scenes and after the layoffs.
