I remember the fire and hellstorm (aka rash of social media postings and local news stories) when Pacific Gas and Electric debuted smart meters in California. As smart cities evolve, I wonder if there will be the same sort of outcry.

What are the most necessary/important connections we can make in a smart city? One of the things I'd love to see demoed are solar panels for pavement or asphalt.
