From a button seen years ago at Balticon, this would be appropriate for a Chemical Engineer:

If you're not part of the solution
You're part of the precipitate.

I've seen this as a poster somewhere:

What's the difference between a Civil Engineer and a Combat Engineer?

A Civil Engineer builds things and a Combat Engineer blows them up!

@Traneus Rex: The equipment is idiot-proof, but is not student-proof, because the students are not idiots.

What experiment did they use to verify this proposition? :-)

Decades ago in university undergraduate physics lab, the teaching assistants had the following saying:

The equipment is idiot-proof, but is not student-proof, because the students are not idiots.

There are 10 kinds of persons in the world:

Those that understand the binary number system.

Those that don't.

Those that understand the trinary number system.

The last line can be iterated indefinitely.

If you annoy them enough they will give you money to go away - especially if you can tell their Vulture friends [sic] what they are (not) doing.

Manglement live in fear of truth - you just need to know where the bodies are buried (it's useful if you helped bury some of them).

Then stuff the money in a mattress and keep an unlisted phone number. And address.  And SSN.  And get a new identity (certain USGov't Agencies can be useful in this area if you can reveal a suffiicent number of buried bodies; otherwise move offshore - far offshore).

Not on a t-shirt (or swimsuit bottom) that I have seen, but a related saying (that I often repeated to my design teams before they got tired of me and gave me money to go away - more fools they):

'You can't make a system foolproof because fools are so ingenious.'

Or maybe it's the fool who's designing the foolproof system who fools henself that the system is foolproof when it's really fool-friendly.  All the more better.  For fools.

Attributed to James Clerk Maxwell's wife Katherine (perhaps apocryphal) but not yet seen on a t-shirt (althought there are many t-shirts with Maxwell's equations on them - and woe betide the wearer who can't parse them when challenged by yours truly):

It's time to leave now, James, you are starting to have fun.
