Well, in the iPhone 7/7 Plus and 8/8 Plus, we have seen the similar Murata and USI Wi-Fi module cut out in one corner.

Splitting the battery may also help with heat dissipation during charging.  It would be interesting to see the overall layout and what they are doing for thermal transfer.

Looks like the Murata WiFi module has a corner cut out of it. Odd shape but if the volume is high enough...

An unknown chip

There is one chip with package markings STB600B0 on the logic board. We suspected that it is from STMicro and might be a power management IC with voltage regulator functions, but still not quite sure. Comments are appreciated.
