You say "FCC Chief Bails" but it could've been "FCC Chief decides not to risk life speaking to violent supporters of government-controlled internet". More likely, he knows he stirred up a hornets nest and didn't want the bad publicity considering the senate is even trying to censure him. I can't work of if Pai is corrupt or a blind idealouge of chicago free market principles. Either way, he is not serving the people. Not having net neutrality only works if you have lots of competition which is not the case for ISPs, of which in many cases they have legislatively made themselves monopolies in many areas.

Remember -- Ajit Pai -- that despicable and arrogant Verizon lawyer was installed at FCC by that beloved President -- Barack Obama

So EE Times admires the NY Times and strives to be a failing news organization? Is it telling at all that every accomplishment you cite is several decades old? Have at it, David, I suppose you would make a great NY Times reporter: biased and willing to mislead.   It also appears your site allows basement dwelling losers to sign up for an account in order to make childish (and lame) comments toward other users of this site. That's called Trolling. In other words, your site allows (enables) trolls. The hallmark of a great news organization, I'm sure.   I will be deleting my account and unsubscribing from EE Times email. I've been a member of this site for many years and visit the site randomly but regularly but I'm tired of being mislead by news organizations. I want the truth, without spin and without being misled. Apparently that's too much to ask.   Yours Truly, Triggered Snowflake

To Ahelten: Wow, thanks for the compliment, comparing my work to the reporting of the New York Times, the most honored and respected news organization in American history, winner of more Pulitzer Prizes than any other newspaper, victor in the landmark Sullivan case establishing the independence of newspapers from predatory lawsuits, original publisher of the Pentagon Papers that brought down the criminal administration of Richard Nixon and exposed 30 years of government lying about the war in Vietnam, home of some of the greatest journalists who ever sat down in front of a keyboard. Your praise is not just for me, but for all the hardworking reporters at EE Times, a truly professioinal group whom I've known and admired for years. God bless you, Ahelten, and I promise: We Will Keep Up the Good Work!

Priority?

The "net-neutrality" rules have an exemption for various types of services ("Non-BIAS data services", with BIAS meaning "Broadband Internet Access Services", so general traffic such as browsing and app data). This statement of protecting mission/life-critical applications by repealing the Title-II regulations is misleading, as priority already exists under Title II.

You say "FCC Chief Bails" but it could've been "FCC Chief decides not to risk life speaking to violent supporters of government-controlled internet".

You also say Pai "contradicted" himself by saying "five unelected individuals" shouldn't make decisions like imposing net-neutrality on American citizens. You are either ignorant, willfully stupid, or are getting your viewpoints from salon.com! Pai was saying net neutrality should never have been passed in the first place! How is it contradicting himself, then, to repeal net neutrality? He's putting things back to the way they were before "five unelected individuals" imposed net-neutrality during the Obama reign.

I've seen other news organizations make this same brain-dead misleading and erroneous argument. And news organization might think their bad reputation is not earned! Don't let EE Times become the NY Times. It's not a good place to be (and I will promptly cancel all accounts and unregister from your various email lists).
