Omron’s electronic cat NeCoRo is competition for Sony’s Aibo

Sony's Aibo is set for some feline competition next month. On 20 November, Omron is launching NeCoRo, a furry electronic cat. It comes in brown or grey, weighs 1.6kg and stands at 26516532cm.

Containing touch, sound, sight and acceleration sensors, Omron claims NeCoRo's proprietary Mind and Consciousness (MaC) technology enables it to generate feelings. But the £1050 pet will prove elusive. A mere 5000 will be sold and they will only be available in Japan.
