Thomas P. Rigoli has been providing counsel to Silicon Valley companies for more than 40 years. He began building his reputation as a high-technology communicator when he joined EDN magazine as its first San Francisco editor, chronicling innovations in the South Bay before it became known as Silicon Valley. He subsequently headed a high-tech PR/advertising agency, and was later recruited by Cirrus Logic to be its VP of Corporate Communications. He now consults for a few clients including Multibeam Corporation, working closely with Dr. David K. Lam, founder of Lam Research, one of his agency's clients in the early 1980s.

Editor's note: Tom's memoir, "Experiencing Silicon Valley," which won Syracuse University's "L.C. Smith School of Engineering & Computer Science Prize" for contributing to the public's understanding of engineering and technology, was republished in TAP Times in the April 2013 issue.
